Culver City, California: Restaurant Guide

Culver City has really surprised me in the last year. There have been new, exciting restaurant openings that have made a splash in the restaurant industry. Downtown Culver City is adorable as well.

Hatchet Hall

Hatchet Hall is absolutely phenomenal. Chef Brian Dunsmoor’s high skill level in the kitchen has put this restaurant at the top. Focused on farm to table ingredients, Hatchet Hall is perfect for brunch, lunch or dinner. The cornbread is the best thing I’ve ever eaten.

Must Try: Anson Mills Cornbread, Ricotta Toast, Wild Blue Shrimp, Loaded Baked Potato Gnocchi, Pan-Roasted Broccolini, Egg Sandwich

Bianca

Bianca always hits the spot. This bakery/cafe bakes their breads and desserts fresh each morning. It’s my favorite spot to lunch in Culver City.

Must Try: Croque Madame, Ricotta Pancakes, Burrata & Prosciutto Salad, Focaccia with Ahi Tuna

Margot

Margot at The Platform is a vibey rooftop serving Italian cuisine with a modern California twist. It offers 360° views of Culver City and a great place to drinks, too.

Lodge Bread Co.

If you’re looking for breakfast in Culver City, this little bakery has the best (and biggest) cinnamon rolls. Their pizzas are just as yummy, too.

Must Try: Cinnamon Roll, Breakfast Sammie, Jambon Beurre, Spicy Sausage Pizza, Burrata & Zucchini Pizza

Destroyer

Destroyer is the coolest cafe in town. Every dish is a work of art. Destroyer takes simple meals and turns them into a masterpiece. You have to experience it to understand.

Citizen Public Market

Created in a reimagined historical landmark that previously housed Culver City’s Citizen Publishing Company, this unique, industrial food court has the best bang bang noodles, fried chicken sandwiches, pizza and more.

Must Try: Hand-pulled Noodles from Bang Bang Noodles, Baja Oysters at Jolly Oyster, Japanese Fried Chicken at Go-Go Bird

Pasta Sisters

This Pasta Sisters location marks their second one in the city. Most of the pastas are build your own and it’s essential to add burrata.

Simonette Restaurant

Tucked inside the Palihotel Culver City, Simonette is a hidden gem. Not only is the setting beautiful and the patio charming, the classic French fare is exquisite.

Madre Oaxacan Restaurant and Mezcaleria

Madre is a little closer to Palms than Culver City, but it still counts. With locations in Torrance and West Hollywood, Madre has been very successful because of its great food and endless supply of speciality mezcal and tequila.

Another Chicago transplant I love in LA! Etta is an airy, new American restaurant with an open kitchen. It has a fun, relaxed environment for any occasion.

Loqui

Be prepared for a line at lunch time! Loqui is very popular to go, but I really enjoy eating it there while it’s fresh. Their flour tortillas are just too good!

Father’s Office

Father’s Office is a regular on my guides, but for good reason. You must try the cheeseburger, fries, arancini and salt and vinegar tater tots. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
